- How do I get a library card?
- How do I renew or view books or other items I have checked out?
- Click the My Account link below the Discovery logo to the left of the search box.
- Log in and click the "My Checked Out Items" link.
- Check boxes next to the items you want to renew, and click Renew Selected.
- How do I locate books or other items in the library?
- How do I find out if an item is available for checkout or use at CSU?
- How do I request an item from another library if it is not available at CSU?
- Click the Prospector or CSU InterLibrary Loan link in search results or the item's Other Sources tab.
- How do I recall an item if it is checked out by someone else?
- Click the Recall button in the item view.
- How do I get items from storage?
- How do I find an item if I know the title, author, subject, call number, ISBN or ISSN?
- How do I find a book or other item if I know both the title and author?
- In most cases, typing both the title and author in the search box will find the item.
- If this does not work, you can use Advanced Search to put the title and author in separate fields.
- How do I find related books or items?
- Click an item's title, author, subject, collection or subsite to view a list of similar items.
- How do I find CSU theses and dissertations?
- Select Format: CSU Theses/Dissertations in the left column of the Discovery home page or search results.
- The ProQuest Disserations and Theses Database contains the full text of most dissertations from 1997 to the present.
- Click the
Search ProQuest for full text version link in Discovery search results or an item's Availability tab. - See the Digital Repository Collection: CSU Theses and Dissertations for locally stored electronic versions of some newer items.
- Try adding "thesis" or "dissertation" to your search terms. Example: small business thesis
- Try searching the Author field for the department of the thesis or dissertation. Example: colorado state university biology

- How do I search only Library Catalog (or Digital Repository or CSU Libraries Website) items?
- Click one or more of the checkboxes below the search box, and click Search.
- How do I search or view items in the Regional Catalog (Prospector) or other sources?
- How do I limit my search to a single material type (books, e-books, journals, e-journals, etc.)?
- Click Format in the left column and click the format you want.
- How do I view only recently published items?
- Click "since 2005" in the Publication Date box in the left column, or type a date such as 2008 in the first box, and click Go.
- How do I view only online items?
- Click Location in the left column and click Online (which includes Internet and E-Reference).
- How do I save items to my account?
- Click the
Favorites icon in search results or items. - How do I bookmark search results or items?
- Click the
Bookmark link in or at the bottom of search results and items. - Click the
Favorites icon in the popup menu. - How do I email a link to search results or items to myself or others?
- Click the
Bookmark link in or at the bottom of search results and items. - Click the Email link (envelope icon) in the popup menu.
- How do I print an item or a list of items?
- Perform a search to view the item(s) you want to print.
- Click the Print icon in your browser, or click the
Bookmark link at the bottom of search results and items, and click the Print link (printer icon) in the popup menu. - Note that printing may be slow in Internet Explorer. You might want to try printing in another Web browser such as Firefox or Safari.
- How do I save items to EndNote or other reference management software?
- Click the
EndNote button in search results or items. - Or click the Citation tab of an item and click the name of your reference management software.
